MSC Cruises Makes History at Italian Grand Prix

First cruise line to bring speciality restaurant cuisine trackside

MSC Cruises has achieved another industry first, bringing its acclaimed onboard dining experience directly to the Formula 1 circuit. As Premium Partner of the BWT Alpine Formula One Team, MSC became the first cruise line ever to serve its speciality restaurant cuisine trackside at the Italian Grand Prix at Monza.

From High Seas to High Speeds

Three of MSC’s top chefs travelled to the iconic Autodromo Nazionale Monza, bringing signature dishes from the cruise line’s award-winning speciality restaurants directly to the BWT Alpine drivers, pit crew, engineers and VIP guests.

The unique collaboration showcased MSC’s culinary prowess beyond the ship, featuring dishes from beloved onboard venues, including:

  • Eataly – La Burrata with Tuscan tomato bread compote and Le Tagliatelle al Tartufo with Parmigiano Reggiano
  • Kaito Sushi and Teppanyaki – Hamachi and Ora King Salmon Sashimi with truffle teriyaki
  • Chef’s Garden Kitchen – Glazed Beef Short Rib with Cauliflower Purée
  • Hola! Tacos & Cantina – Mexican Flan dessert
  • Butcher’s Cut Steakhouse – Crab cakes with jumbo lump crab
  • Pan Asian Restaurant – Misoyaki Black Cod with crunchy rice cake

Expert Chefs, Track-to-Table Excellence

The culinary team included MSC’s corporate chef Luca Cesarini, Asian cuisine specialist Chef Xiao Wang, and Michelin-experienced chef Pasquale Puziello – collectively bringing decades of international restaurant and luxury hotel experience.

“Having grown up watching Formula 1, it was a privilege to be in the middle of the action and serve a menu that helped fuel the BWT Alpine Formula One drivers ahead of their thrilling race,” said Luca Cesarini.
