Did you know?

Drew Barrymore named MSC World America in a Star-Studded Ceremony. The ship was officially named by Hollywood actress Drew Barrymore on April 9, 2025, in Miami – her new homeport. This continues MSC’s tradition of having celebrity godmothers christen their ships, with Barrymore joining the ranks of Sophia Loren and other notable figures who’ve blessed MSC vessels. The timing is perfect as World America begins her career sailing from PortMiami to the Caribbean.

World America houses the Only EATALY at Sea. She features the world’s only EATALY restaurant aboard a cruise ship. This isn’t just an Italian restaurant with a famous name – it’s a genuine EATALY experience bringing authentic Italian marketplace dining to the ocean. Located on Deck 8 (Miami), it offers the same high-quality Italian products and regional specialities you’d find in EATALY’s land-based locations, making it a truly unique dining experience you can’t get on any other cruise line.

The Ship Features a Covered LED Sky Screen Promenade. The World Galleria spans multiple decks and features an impressive LED sky screen covering the indoor promenade area. This creates an immersive environment where digital skies, weather effects, and themed presentations transform throughout the day. Combined with 2,214 square meters of entertainment, shopping, and dining space, it’s like having a high-tech town square at sea that changes mood and atmosphere as you cruise.

MSC World America Cabin FAQ

Bella is an MSC Experience type and not an actual physical cabin. They are a Guaranteed grade, i.e. Bella Balcony means the MSC systems will automatically assign you any of the Fantastica balconies across the entire ship.

Great question! Not many MSC ships don’t have a Deck 13 – but all the World-Class currently are missing a Deck 13 – this is because the ships are likely to sail in waters where 13 is an unlucky number!

Great question! There isn’t a Deck 17, as seventeen in Italian culture is considered unlucky!

If you view 17 as a Roman numeral (XVII), it is changed anagrammatically to VIXI, which in Latin translates to “I have lived” or “My life is over”. So you won’t find a Deck 17 on any MSC cruise ship!

There are a total of 2,614 cabins on the ship.

32 different types and 3 ‘Bella’ types that cover Interior, Ocean View and Balcony guaranteed cabins.

There are a total of 40 cabins that can sleep six comfortably. These are Premium Aurea Suite (SL1) cabin types all on Decks 12 and 14.

There are a total of 66 Accessible cabins on the ship. They are priced the same as other cabins in the same grades.

There are 152 Suites, 7 of which are Yacht Club Interior suites.

You can track the ship in real time on our dedicated MSC World America tracking page.
